Strange, I've got at least a couple dspam appliances protecting MS
Exchange servers. I would think MS SMTP would treat things similarly.
Are you sure it's not some kind of connection limit thing?

Like Jonathan, I have spam protecting a number of Exchange servers, but
not infront of plain MS SMTP server. But I guess the question is, are
you perhaps using the dspam deamon to deliver directly to the MS SMTP
instance? That's a configuration I haven't tried yet, although I'm
currently testing that scenario using a free win32 mail server.
