[dspam-users] A Thank You and a few questions...

Hello list!

First of all, I'd like to thank the author and contributors for
creating such an unique tool, which quite surprised me by being 100%
accurante even on most difficult emails! Honestly, I didn't expect
that kind of quality. Fed it a corpus of 3500 innocent mails and about
2500 spams that I had luckily stored in the trash and magic quite
literally started to happen.

I'm still new to it and have some questions.
My system is FreeBSD 5.4, the database is Postgresql.

1. Is there a way to connect Dspam's CGI to Postgre database? I
vaguely remember reading something about Postgresql not supported in
this regard? Either way, after all the pains it took to compile suexec
and move things around I get 'empty' values for everything, such as
"N/A%". Also, must the passwords in htpasswd and the system be the
same for the user I intend to gather stats via the web interface for?

2. Maybe it's supposed to work this way, but when feeding messages
through dspam_corpus I got about 0.5 messages per second(!), which is
probably fairly slow. The system is PII-350, but I expected it to run
a bit faster. Could it be a problem with indexes not existing in the
database? Does the script that sets up the database take care of
indexes or should I go and create them myself? Then again... probably
indexes only make sense when reading data, not writing, but since I'm
not a database guru, I can't know.

3. I set up a system for one user and the system is doing fantastic
job for it, but I want to extend this user's filtering data to another
user in the system (that user receives almost exactly the same spam),
how do I do that? If I do

dspam_merge olduser newuser -o newuser

Will that work?

Also I noticed `-o' is not required since dspam_merge will take
something like this

dspam_merge user1 user2 user3

and merge stuff, but what actually happens then?

And finally,
4. I wanted to setup a separate mailbox for storing filtered spam,
since I cannot get CGI to work currently, has anyone already done that
and care to share his setup be it procmail or IMAP or whatever? Currently I
just tag my messages with 'SPAM'. If I get it right, there's NO such
function present in dspam (quarantine to separate mailbox), and I'd
really like to see it, so if anyone here takes enhancement requests,
consider this.

Thanks for listening! I hope someone will be able to help.

Buck
