I have done that. I belive my last configure line looked like this

./configure --prefix=/usr/local/dspam --with-dspam-group=dspam
--with-dspam-home-group=dspam --enable-spam-delivery
--enable-delivery-to-stdout --enable-homedir
--with-mysql-includes=/usr/include/mysql
--with-mysql-libraries=/usr/lib/mysql --with-storage-driver=mysql_drv
--enable-deamon --enable-virtual-users

which stil generates the same issue
